Yvonne R Brass

Yvonne R. Brass, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on November 20, 1939, in Rochester, New York, Yvonne dedicated her life to both her family and her passion for birds.

Yvonne's family ties were profound and meaningful. She is survived by her son, Daniel Brass; her brother, William Cragg; her granddaughter, Annaleese Brass; her sister-in-law, Patricia Cragg; her niece and goddaughter, Kathy (Scott) Honan; her nephews, Brian (Barb) Cragg and Jeff (Joyce) Cragg; her niece, Robin Casella; and many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom cherished her presence in their lives. She is also survived by many dear friends in the bird community.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Melonee Caterina; her husband, Robert Brass; her parents, Edward Sr. and Ruth Cragg; her special friend, Joseph Mykins Jr.; her brothers, Edward Cragg Jr. and Kenneth Cragg; and her nephew, Jason Cragg. Each of these individuals held a special place in Yvonne's heart, and their memories will forever be cherished by those who remain.

As the owner of Yvonne's Swings and Things, she specialized in birds and accessories, providing a range of products that catered to fellow bird enthusiasts. Her dedication to her craft was well known. Yvonne was an active member of the Rochester Hookbill Association, where she shared her extensive knowledge and love for raising and breeding birds.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on December 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, followed by a prayer service at 6:30 PM at Thomas Funeral Chapels, located at 4545 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612. The interment will be held privately at Falls Cemetery, Greece NY.

Yvonne will be remembered not only for her contributions to the avian community but also for the love and kindness she extended to all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
