Susan A. Leslie

May 4, 1952 — April 29, 2025

Webster

Susan A. Leslie, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, swept from this world on April 29, 2025, just days shy of her 73rd birthday. Born on May 4, 1952, Susan's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the threads of her many passions. For 30 remarkable years, she dedicated herself to her career at Xerox, followed by nearly a decade of service at Conserve. In every role she undertook, her colleagues were met with her unwavering spirit, professionalism, and warmth.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Susan found delight in the simple pleasures of life. A deft knitter, her hands wove intricate patterns that mirrored the intricacy of her relationships. She poured her heart into each stitch, creating gifts for her family and friends that were imbued with affection. When not tangled in yarn, she could be found lost within the pages of a good book, where stories transported her to new worlds and ideas, expanding her horizons in ways only literature can.

Susan leaves behind a network of family who will keenly feel her absence. Her sisters, Sharon (Joe) Arena, Shawn Sciascia, and Sherri (Jim) Osborn, along with her brother, Stephen (Kim) Leslie, have lost a treasured confidante and supporter. In addition, her former brother-in-law and dear friend, David Austin, mourns the loss of a bond that transcended familial connections. The laughter and joy will echo in the lives of her beloved nieces and nephews—Joey (Maria) Arena, Emily Nguyen, David (Sarah) Austin, Joshua (Angela) Austin, and Connor Leslie (Liz)—who will carry her legacy forward in their hearts. Her great nieces and nephews—Madison Neu, Noah (Ebony) Austin, Joey Arena, Natalie Feeney, Mason Nguyen, Grayson Nguyen, and Jagger Austin—will remember her loving spirit that danced through their childhood memories.

Susan's life was also shaped by the enduring love of her parents, Richard and Eva Leslie, now watching from the beyond, and the legacy of her late brother-in-law, Richard Sciascia, who awaited her in eternal rest.

As the family gathers to honor her memory, they extend heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate care received from Rochester General Hospital’s Oncology Unit, 6th floor—it is a reminder of the kindness that exists in the world, even amid sorrow.

A visitation to celebrate Susan's life will take place on Tuesday May 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Chapels, located at 4545 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY. All who crossed paths with Susan are invited to share in the remembrance of a beautiful life, marked by her unyielding spirit and infectious love. Though she may have departed from this earthly realm, the warmth of her presence will forever linger in the hearts she touched.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Susan's memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
