It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard E. Conte, who left this world on June 3, 2025, at the age of 78. Richard went home to Jesus, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and joy that will forever resonate within the hearts of those who had the privilege knowing him.
Born on August 21, 1946, Richard spent many years carving out a successful career in flooring. His craftsmanship was not just a profession but a passion. He took pride in his work. To his family, he was more than just hardworking; he was their steadfast supporter and devoted father.
Richard cherished his role as a father, and he is survived by his beloved children: Richard (Anne), John (Vicki), Guy (Robyn), and Tina (Shawn) Holland. Together, they carry on his spirit, each embodying the love and values he imparted throughout their lives. As a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 29 great-grandchildren, Richard’s legacy continues to thrive in the laughter and smiles of his expanding family.
In addition to his children, Richard is survived by his sister-in-law, Evelyn Miller, whose companionship meant a great deal to him. He also leaves behind his best friend of 48 years, Glen Carter, illustrating the profound bonds he fostered throughout his life, demonstrating what it means to be a true friend.
Richard joins his parents, John and Anna Conte, as well as the love of his life, his cherished wife, Rita Conte, in eternal rest. Their memories will live on vividly in the stories told by those he left behind and in the warmth of his family's gatherings, where tales of his kindness and wisdom will be shared for years to come.
A visitation will be held at Thomas Funeral Chapels, located at 4545 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612, on Friday June 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
