Eugene Frederick Deil, Jr., a devoted handyman and Army veteran, passed away on April 15, 2026, in his hometown of Rochester, New York. Born on December 4, 1950, in Rochester, Mr. Deil dedicated his life to both his family and his community, leaving a lasting impact through his work and service.
Mr. Deil proudly served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971, a period during which he earned several distinguished medals recognizing his commitment and bravery. His military service was a defining chapter of his life, reflecting his steadfast dedication and valor.
Following his honorable discharge, Eugene pursued a career as a handyman, where his skills and reliability became well-known and appreciated by those who relied on his expertise. His practical knowledge and willingness to assist made him a valued figure in the Rochester community.
Eugene Frederick Deil, Jr. is survived by his children, Gina and Adam, who were a source of pride and joy throughout his life. He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including his brothers and sisters Virginia, William, Robert, Joseph, Patricia, Thomas, Barbara, and Mary, along with many nieces and nephews who cherished his presence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Sr. and Virginia, whose memory he honored throughout his lifetime.
A Mass to celebrate and honor Eugene’s life will be held on May 4, 2026, at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612. The service will begin at 10:30a.m., providing a time for family, friends, and community members to pay their respects and remember a man who contributed much to those around him. A gravdside service and Military Honors will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. No prior calling will be held.
Eugene’s legacy is one of service, dedication, and deep familial bonds. He will be remembered not only for his professional skills and military valor but equally for his quiet strength and compassion as a son, brother, father, and friend.
