Carmen Iris Quiñones, born on October 26, 1945, in Carolina, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in New Jersey. A devoted spiritual minister, Carmen dedicated many years to serving the Pentecostal Church. Her unwavering commitment took her to jails, hospitals, and the homes of countless individuals, where she spread hope and love through her ministry.

Carmen earned her Secretarial Bachelor’s Degree from the Universidad de Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, a testament to her lifelong dedication to learning and service. She was not only a beacon of faith but also a talented individual with a passion for sewing and crafting. Her amazing singing voice was a cherished gift, and she was frequently invited to share it within her church community.

Carmen's family is left to treasure her memory, including her husband, Juan Gonzalez; her children, Nadya Diaz, Carlos Diaz, Iris Vargas (Diaz), Edwin Perez, Angel Perez, and Glorimar Lopez; and her numerous grandchildren: Nelida Iris Torres (Sniatecki), Cynthia Diaz, Jovany Vazquez, Krystal Perez (Mendez), Christina Diaz, Jajaira Vazquez, Elizabeth Diaz, David Diaz, Xiomara Diaz, Edwin Perez, Jr., Donte Lopez (Natasha), Christopher Perez, Brieanna Dejesus, Carlos Diaz, Jr., Juan Diaz, Joseph Perez, Joshua Perez and Thomas Perez. She was also a devoted great-grandmother, adored by Sinsarady, Nelani, Xavier, Glorianni, Maniyah, Melani, Meki, Rayshaun, Jordani, Jaiden, Grayson, Emilio, Neymar, Raphael, Eliel, Iḿiajah, and many more.

Carmen is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Julia and Carmelo, as well as her half-sister, Maria Salaman. She was also preceded in death by her uncle, Angel Salaman, her grandmother, Marialina Salaman, and her grandfather, Fidel Salaman.

A visitation in celebration of Carmen's life will be held on May 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Chapels, located at 4545 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612. Carmen Iris Quiñones will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the profound impact she had on her family and community. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Carmen Iris Quiñones, nacida el 26 de octubre de 1945 en Carolina, Puerto Rico, falleció pacíficamente el 5 de mayo de 2025 en New Jersey. Como una hermana dedicada, Carmen Iris dedicó muchos años a servir a la Iglesia Pentecostal. Su inquebrantable compromiso la llevó a cárceles, hospitales y hogares de innumerables personas, donde difundió esperanza y amor a través de su ministerio.

Carmen Iris obtuvo su licenciatura en la Universidad de Puerto Rico en Río Piedras, testimonio de su dedicación de toda la vida al aprendizaje y al servicio. No solo fue un ejemplo de fe, sino también una persona talentosa con pasión por la costura y las manualidades. También fue una bisabuela devota, adorada por Sinsarady, Nelani, Xavier, Glorianni, Maniyah, Melani, Meki, Rayshaun, Jordani, Jaiden, Grayson, Emilio, Neymar, Raphael, Eliel, Iḿiajah y muchos más.


A Carmen Iris le precedieron en la muerte sus queridos padres, Julia y Carmelo, así como su media hermana, María Salamán. También le precedieron en la muerte su tío, Ángel Salamán, su abuela, Marialina Salamán, y su abuelo, Fidel Salamán.


El velatorio en honor a Carmen Iris se llevará a cabo el 9 de mayo de 2025, de 11:00 a. m. a 2:00 p. m., en la Funeraria Thomas, ubicada en 4545 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612. Carmen Iris Quiñones será recordada por su bondad, generosidad y el profundo impacto que tuvo en su familia y comunidad. Su legado de amor y fe seguirá inspirando a quienes la conocieron.
