Ronald W. Ferguson
Rochester: December 8, 2019. He was born May 27, 1924. He was the only child of Floris Allen Ferguson and Amy LaRock Ferguson. Ron is predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie Bowen Ferguson. He is survived by his three children: Richard A. Ferguson, Wendy Pilaroscia, and Marcia Ferguson; grandchildren: Brian Pilaroscia & Mikela Murphy; great grandchildren: Antonio and Gianna Pilaroscia. As well as having an important part in the lives of Richards godchildren, Christopher Mayo and Marzella Harrison. He raised his family in Greece.
Ron grew up in the Charlotte area of Rochester. His grandfather and cousin started Ferguson Hardware on Lake Ave in Charlotte. He worked at Ferguson Hardware in his youth. He graduated from Charlotte High school in 1942. He worked as a draftsman and model shop supervisor for Burroughs corporation (later Unisys) in Rochester for most of his career retiring in 1984 when the company relocated to Ohio. He attended RIT for engineering courses. He was a very skilled woodworker-hobbyist. He served in the army in 1946-1947 under General MacArthur during the occupation of Japan.
Family & friends may call at Thomas Funeral Chapels, Thursday January 9th 5-7pm. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 11th at 11:30 at New Life Assembly, 64 Calkins Rd (Off W Henrietta Rd) Zip 14623. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to American Veterans (AMVETS).
